Tavis Hasenfus is a dedicated community leader, practicing attorney, and State Representative serving Winthrop and Readfield in Maine House District 57.
Born and raised in Central Maine, Tavis brings deep local roots to the State House. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 2006, earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine in 2010, and went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Maine Law in 2013. As a local attorney, he helps Maine families and small businesses navigate complex legal challenges with integrity and fairness.
In the Legislature, Tavis serves as the House Chair of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, where he works to balance smart, effective public safety policies with justice reform, first responder support, and addiction response efforts.
Above all, Tavis is a family man. He and his wife are raising three children attending local public schools. You will often find Tavis on local fields, diamonds, and ice rinks coaching youth baseball, hockey, and flag football, or participating in conservation efforts to protect our pristine local lakes.
